Dawn wants a fish.
In Italy, Dawn and Ian visit an aquarium. Dawn feels connected to fish, who seem to swim about as part of a school, but still like individuals. She relates this to her being one of many different yet similar siblings. Ian, ever the caring companion, trades his shoes for a fish in a bag and slippers that look like fuzzy dogs or bears. Later, the fish, lays eggs and hatches. Dawn and Ian must now find food for their new charges. They could release them to the sea, river or fountain, or trade more items for fish food.
