So far, you have helped us make the Joneses by scripting the episodes and sketches. How about a mashup with some high res files?

The first 10 episode are now available on the Internet Archive website. I'll be uploading all the episodes as soon as I can, so keep checking for more video footage.

For all content on the Joneses website, we use the Creative Commons BY-SA V3.0 agreement. Please read this before downloading/remixing/mashing.. you get the idea.

Post your mashups on YouTube or any of the popular video hosting sites (preferably the ones that wikidot supports - the list is below) and tag with WRTJ so we can all find them. You can also embed them in the wiki using the following syntax when you post your mashups online:

paste the html for the video here (Google Video, YouTube, Revver, Dailymotion)
[[/embedvideo]]

Thanks for what is already there, but we really need formats that are better quality and not encumbered by patents.

Ogg Theora, MPEG-2 and ideally, the original DV files, are what we really need.

It's brilliant that the files are on archive.org. Thank you for this! I don't have to rip the FLV files anymore. Errr I mean my friend doesn't. The mp4 files are good for iMovie, for iPods and podcasting.

I would echo Matt's call for more formats though. Many archive.org videos are available in mpeg2 versions for editing which means that users of archive.org will look for this format. Theora is an entirely Free-As-In-Freedom format that Linux users will like. And it would be amazing to get the DV files uploaded to encourage professional-quality re-use.

Adding any of these formats will grow the Joneses' potential audience of viewers and remixers.

Hi Matt

We're really pushed for resources on this project and I want to get the files out to everyone as fast as possible. The original DV files are HUGE, but if there is a real call for them, we can arrange. Perhaps you fancy spending some time here at Imagaintion to help out on this?

Yes dv files are huge. I'm sure a 5-minute episode is probably a gig large or may barely be able to fit on a DVD. Simply setting them up for simple download would be unreasonable. It would be great to have the dv files going over bittorrent. Legal torrents is creative commons friendly, but I think they host the file too, so you would probably still have to upload or mail it. I wish I were in Europe. I would be all about spending some time at Imagination.

I am starting a free culture club at my school, and I would really like to string together some high-res video and have a Jonesesathon!
