What's going to happen?

Here's my take on what could happen next and how The Joneses could evolve.

Dawn and Ian are driving back home they have the realisation that they have walked away from a crime scene. They get out the car panicking they walk past a tv shop and see their faces on a Crime Watch/American style tv show, next photos of their siblings flash up on screen as they do the word "deceased" is stamped on the screen.

Dawn and Ian read the subtitles

Subtitles:

The pair known as "The Joneses" were last seen heading South in a Purple Ford S-Max the public are warned to approach with caution they are armed and dangerous..

We see security camera footage of Dawn and Ian jumping into the car

..This was found at the crime scene

Ian:

Hey that's mine!

Subtitles:

This belongs to the male who police are now calling "Whistler Jones"

Ians face looks confused and as he see's these words his lips puckers up to whistle, zoomed in security footage comes back screen of Dawn and Ian (very blurred)

Ian:

I need to shave!

Dawn Calmly pokes at her hair

Dawn:

(Shocked ) Yeah, I need to get these roots done (Points at tv) look at them! Big Brother maybe watching us but at least he could have the descensy to film our best side!

Ian:

Dawn:

We could follow two detectives on the hunt for Dawn and Ian in a documentry style
WRTJ could be filmed like a tv comedy drama and the show could be interspursed with scenes of Dawn and Ian watching the Detectives Documentry
Having a Documentry revolving around the hunt for two alledged serial killers is ridiculous, but will this be tv in the future? (crack the funny but also make a point)

Anyway, loved the ending to WRTJ, very well done to all the team. Emma and Neil were superb and also that woman who played Cherry she was good too!

Is she Dawn Jones and Cherry has taken her identity throughout the WRTJ adventure?

Why does Ian protest so much when it comes to meeting this sibling?

Has Ian been told to go on this journey to keep an eye on Dawn and keep her stable.

Is Dawn a carerer? or is she someone who has escaped from care?

Ian on Cherry "She's not right!" what does this mean? Are they dealing with someone unstable?

It's all getting a bit exciting.

So, we were wondering if you, The Joneses' community, had any ideas about what the last 30 seconds might look like?

The 'Where are the Joneses?' story centres around Dawn's discovery that she is the product of sperm donation. She is one of 27 siblings, fathered by the same sperm donor. Dawn sets out to her find her other siblings, armed only with a list 'borrowed' from her doctor. Ian is her first find. They soon agree to set off across Europe, in search of their other 26 siblings.

Through their journey they have found many of their brothers and sisters but not the answer to the biggest question of them all, ‘who's the daddy’.

On Friday 7th September, the dad will finally be revealed as the Joneses’ adventure draws to a close.

We need you to tell us who you think the father is. It could be anybody! So post a response in the forum and let's hear who you think the daddy is!

I think for the real die hard wrtj fans it's going to be a real pisser when the series is over. It would be complete blasphemy to kill off such fantastic characters after the 80 episodes which probably in total adds up to only circa 4/5 hours of material.

Are there any plans whatsoever in the offing to possibly extend this or to maybe find some other medium/method of keeping them going.

Money Issues

So it appears they are low on cash. My guess is that they will get one of their richer siblings to hook them up.

How much cooler would it be if they:

Robbed a bank (and got caught)
Did a little dine and dash (have to wash dishes afterwards)
Worked as tour guides in an area they are totally unfamiliar with. Imagine Ian and Dawn on a tour. Dawn keeps interrupting the guide. The disgruntled tour guide finally reaches his/her end and yells at Dawn, "Fine! If you know so much, you do the tour! Tell the man back at the base that you are filling in for me today!" Then, of course, Dawn proceeds to make crap up (as she is so good at doing), while Ian poorly answers random questions she throughs at him. "So during the great Italian civil war of 1000 BC, the rebels sang their famous battle cry, could you sing a few bars of that for me Ian?". "Um, alright…I…am a rebel, I fight with my knife and shield, and my enemies flee in great fear, of the great weapon I weild". "Did they sing in English Ian?" "Um…no, that is just my translation." etc.

Ooh, I've forgotten about Ian's lottery ticket. Perhaps that is about to come in handy. A tad too deus ex machina for my taste, I hope it's not much money.

5/ Why did Ian take his Passport down to the lobby he said it was because they might mistake him for a tramp or is there another reason?

An annoying geeky fella working as a geologist. Ian or Dawn might ask him a question as he is scrapping away at a brick wall with a little pen knife.

One of his most annoying traits is the way he grabs people's arms when he is talking to them, just a little too tactile and invading or your personal space and can't helping looking straight into Jonti's camera and smiling inanely.
This is his opening gambit whenever and I mean whenever someone asks him about his unusual name.
"Well you see my dear I don't see it as unusual. My name is me, it defines me and in all three stages of my life, when I was a kid we used to go to Rhyll all the time for holidays, and whilst there I used to love eating rock, couldn't get enough of it esp. the pineapple so you could say I loved rock, for breakfast, lunch, supper, dinner and tea….and snacks. As I grew up and reached my teens I started listening to a lot of music Motorhead, Machinehead, usually metal bands ending in head, you could say I 'loved rock'. And now in the twilight of my life I like nothing more than chipping away at a piece of sandstone to reveal the beautiful schist below. So my dears when I say to you 'I am Troy Loverock' I am not defining my name, my name defines me".

What a w****r, he would certainly annoy the hell out of me.

Bubblr Comic strip maker

Hi all

I'd forgotten about Bubblr until this morning. It's an online tool that pulls in Flickr photos into a cartoon strip format and then lets you put speech bubbles. It's all done in Flash, so I've asked wikidot if they can add the service so that we can embed the flash cartoons here.

To try it - go to Bubblr and enter the flickr tag 'wherearethejoneses' and all the images will roll in. The Joneses user name doesn't seem to work for me.

In the meanwhile, here's a hyperlink to a test.

Siblings Personalities That Would Clash With Dawn and Ian

As this show has progressed we're getting to know what Dawn and Ian are like as people.

What personality traits do you think siblings could have that would clash with Dawn and Ians?

Examples:

Someone who is a sceptic when it comes to Dawn Phycic beliefs

Someone is a bit of a bully maybe picks on Ian, hides his tin mocks his hobbies etc. (Ian would have to get the better and come out of it stronger though, Ian's nice )

I think we need some sisters soon for Dawn to bond/clash with.

I just read Jonti's entry about Carston and how he goes into "Mockney" when he's talking to him.

I found this quite interesting.

This could be something Dawn could do, people who do this always apologise when called up about it.

"Sorry it's just something I do, I just pick up people accents straight away, I can't help it"

It might be true of these type of people but it always still feel like they're mock mimicing.

I think this could be funny.

If anyone wants to throw some ideas about with this drop me a line or chat about it on here.

I've just seen a photo of Carston and Lara they look a beautiful couple.

Carston seems a very blokie type bloke but maybe there's more to it maybe Lara is a "Beard"

Maybe he could confide in Ian.

How would Ian cope with such a secret?

Would he tell Dawn?

And how would she react?

I think she'd love it.

Maybe Dawn and Ian would tell Lara about Carston as they've got to really like her they don't want her to get hurt.

Maybe she knows anyway.

I must admit I was a little surprised to see that somebody has created a character based on me for this show, but then I saw it was Matt Lee, and my surprise was over. He and his mate Mark Stephenson have been giving me false promises for various projects for years, and then never paying me for things, even though I reckon they've made loads of money from them. They deny it, but I have my own belief.

I think I would make a good character for your show. I wrote and recorded some material for another Lee/Stephenson project a few years ago. I have attached it to this post, and will attach it to my character page.

Please make me a character, I am desperate to escape Plymouth!

Noo Yoiker living in Germany where no-one understands a word he says, not because of his English but because of his accent. When Dawn and Ian find him he has just been mugged by a man wearing Lederhosen. He is panicking, clutching his chest and shaking his fist, gasping, "Why, aorta?!" Dawn and Ian take him to the hospital.

When James awakes, he is bitter and ungrateful to hear the news about his origins. He threatens to beat up Ian:

James (feebly reaching forwad): "I'm gonna kick your ass!"

Falls back, knackered.

Dawn (snapping on a latex glove, standing between a frightened Ian and James): "Yeah? Well, I'm gonna wipe some!"

Next scene:

Outside toilet door. Ian and Dawn's voices can be heard:

Ian: "Thanks for doing this, Dawn. My reach just isn't as good as it used to be."
Dawn: "Anytime, you're my brother, remember?"

The door opens, they walk out. Ian is clutching an icepack to his forehead.

So far, you have helped us make the Joneses by scripting the episodes and sketches. How about a mashup with some high res files?

The first 10 episode are now available on the Internet Archive website. I'll be uploading all the episodes as soon as I can, so keep checking for more video footage.

For all content on the Joneses website, we use the Creative Commons BY-SA V3.0 agreement. Please read this before downloading/remixing/mashing.. you get the idea.

Post your mashups on YouTube or any of the popular video hosting sites (preferably the ones that wikidot supports - the list is below) and tag with WRTJ so we can all find them. You can also embed them in the wiki using the following syntax when you post your mashups online:

I've mentioned in another thread about getting The Joneses featured on Youtube by rating the video's

I've just had another thought get Katers17 involved, who is Katers17?

She's one of the stars of Youtube with 18730 subscribers and 938,663 channel views so far.

She would also make a great Jones as she has good knowledge of all things Fantasy and is into computer games something in common with Ian but obviously Ian likes the dice.

She's from the UK too. Fly her out somewhere and give her a part. she very quirky and very creative.
