Then again, perhaps the father has had a sex change? Grace Jones is about as masculine a woman as you can get, aside perhaps from Russian shot-putters…

Mr Jones went to the Doctors to get his sperm count checked, his count was very high. Mr Jones vowed from that very day that he would put his seed to good use. He felt he would never have children with anyone else as Mrs Jones was his only true love. He wanted to make people happy and bring something into peoples lives that they could love and cherish.

In 1968 Mr Jones took a trip to Tokyo to make a deposit in one of the first of two sperm banks opened in 1965, the other being in Iowa City, USA. Mr Jones had always wanted to visit Japan so with that in mind he filled his bags and went on his journey and that was his first donation of many.

He didn't do it for kicks, he did it for love.

Undoubtedly prolific, as proven by the interest drawn to himself from the opposite sex during all these years, Tom's efforts have been rewarded. Tom himself hasn't been shy to slit in references into his songs in the past (Sex Bomb anyone?). So what are we waiting for - let's raise the awareness and get Sir Jones on the show!

How about something along the lines of:

"We are two of twenty six siblings born of your seed although of course you don't know this. You are into naturism and extreme airborne sports. You've got something we want - your kinship. We've certainly got something you want - currently in a jar of formaldehyde, you know what we are talking about! There might even be a substantial sum in it for you if we manage to successfully sue the local council"
They may have to trim this down a bit as it would be expensive ( I think you pay by the word in newspaper adverts ).

This fella, their dad, has got the right to claim a good wad off somebody. Maybe the damage could have caused by the fact that some wire was left on the tree after some christmas lights had been removed, so the council was negiligent by not removing it at the same time as the rest of the decorations. Dawn and Ian could return to the scene of the accident, Ian could climb up the tree and find the evidence for himself.

Dawn now knows that she must find the dad, the plums need to go home but also the local London council need to pay for their mistake. I mean what sort of world do we live in when you can't hang glide around London naked without risking the loss of a sexual organ. They need to act fast before the same thing happens to another unfortunate sole.

Cos if you reveal everything, what will Ian do in the next one?

• A priest. Who could have guessed that DNA testing would be invented?
• Dawn is a fantasist. The list is made up. The final shot is of here being dragged away by a doctor.
• Their dad donated before having a sex change. Now s/he is their mum. This will particularly confuse Ian.
• Their dad was a participant in an earlier reality TV show, probably an American effort of the 1970s that thought it would be educational (sic) to see how many Europeans one man could create. Sponsored by XXXXXXX, which will cause problems as Dawn and Ian are in theory trademarked by XXXXXXX.

another part of me wants him to be a dirty old man/washed up rock star that never really made it that big and donted sperm for a quick buck.

then theres the part of me that wants him to be the owner of a flower shop.

The last thirty seconds should definately have some form of cliff hanger. Part of me doesn't want them to find thier dad. that or he's dead. and they want to know how… and its sort of left up to us… or another season!

I quite like the idea that he's dead. that way they are left with the choice of saying goodbye and going thier seperate ways and giving up. or finding all thier siblings. or tracking dawn thier dads family and finding out why and how he died!

Through their journey they have found many of their brothers and sisters but not the answer to the biggest question of them all, ‘who's the daddy’.

On Friday 7th September, the dad will finally be revealed as the Joneses’ adventure draws to a close.
